Some of us cannot imagine having to fine tune the warmth of our water by turning TWO handles on TWO spouts, but that is howhumans have managed it from about 1700 B.C. when faucets werefirst used in the Minoan palace of Knossos on the island of Crete. It wasn’t until Al Moen burned his hands while washing them thatfaucets changed. Moen developed the single handle faucet in 1937,allowing him to reliably turn the handle and expect the temperatureof water desired. Since then, the ball valve from Landis Perry further refined faucet function, while we enjoyed innovation like waterfiltration or touchless faucets! Who knows what’s flowing next?!
