“Get the plunger!” That’s something no home or business owner wants to hear, but did you know that simple tool was invented right here in the U.S.A? A confectioner in New York name John Hawley is often credited as the inventor. He filed patent in 1874 for“vent-clearers for wash bowls.” Then made an improvement two years later by adding “a bead or thickened rim formed around theedge of the cup of the vent-cleaner.” Who knew such a small device could have such a big impact on our “impacted” systems?!
