To ProPress or Solder is something plumbers discuss when talking connecting pieces of copper pipe and fittings. The standard for a LONG time was soldering with flux, solder, and a torch. It takes time, but the materials are less expensive. ProPress for copper has only been around in the U.S. since the 1990s. The fittings are more expensive (rigid copper with EPDM gaskets), require an expensive gun to compress them, and are rated for 50 years. However, it only takes seconds and there’s no flame involved. There are advantages to both for sure. Need copper repair? Call us!
