Soldering or brazing has been used since around 3,000 B.C. Soldering and brazing are two similar techniques for joining copper pipe and fittings that use flux (a paste used to keep the area clean), solder rod (various alloys depending on the specific method), and aflame. Often called “sweating copper,” a soldered joint when donecorrectly, can last the lifetime of the system. There are factors that can impact that longevity like water contaminants, extreme heat and cold, etc. Do you have some leaky copper? Call us!
